The Seattle Seahawks, the Seattle Sounders FC, Major League Soccer (MLS) and CenturyLink Field management are committed to creating a safe environment for fans to watch their favorite teams play. Whether fans are smoking in their seats or there is disorderly conduct, CenturyLink Field management wants to know when inappropriate behavior is happening.

Solution

• MMS implemented a mobile solution to enable SMS reporting for unruly fan behavior. Fans can text their complaints to a short code and receive immediate responses from CenturyLink field security officials. All the while, the fan is anonymous to the person they are reporting which encourages participation.

Results

• The program enables a safer, more comfortable game environment, providing fans a more enjoyable experience.
• Mobile reports against unruly fans are highest during night games.
• Disorderly fan behavior has reduced significantly since the Unruly Fan program was launched.
